It is a great pleasure to welcome you to St. Philomean Girls High School.

I feel privileged to lead such an exciting and vibrant school, which offers great opportunities for the young girls of Hassan. We offer our students the best possible opportunities to become confident, thoughtful and who are prepared for any future challenges, in an exciting and increasingly global world.

1952 March 8th is the very significant day in the history of Hassan; it’s a birthday of St. Philomena Girls High School. Kierkegaard once noted that “Life must be lived forward but understood backward.” This is a great perspective at this juncture. When we take a long view and look back over these years, there are undoubtedly much we understand. From the insignificant inception, today our institution standing out magnificently. It is indeed the indomitable spirit of our pioneers who were placed at the helm of St.Philomena Institution and translated God’s love into action imparting education precisely for the girls. It’s apt to say that when we make a small effort to express our love and fidelity to God, He reciprocates it with hundredfold. Growth of Philomenaite family had been the fruit of wisdom of many sisters and collaborators who directly and indirectly contributed their mite in upholding its reputation and have toiled hard in the preceding years catering to the education of girls thus forming them into responsible citizens of the country. Today I owe our sincere respect and reverence to them gratefully recalling their loving services rendered.

Our school has consistently educated thousands of girls empowering them to evolve into women of substance. Be they doctors, engineers, teachers, nurses, homemakers, scientists, or corporate chiefs the Philomenaites are sure to make their mark in the society. Therefore we aim to make all students to be happy and to be challenged in a supportive and safe environment by:
· Motivating the weak, to address the average, and challenge the gifted.
· Equipping students with the skills and academic success required to access new opportunities and enhance their life chances.
· Consistently insisting on high expectations and academic excellence.
· Creating in them the sense of the Divine
· Educating them to face life and have positive outlook towards life.

It’s said that the most important part of any journey is whom you travel with and I am exceedingly blessed in life with some fabulous travelers, they are my supportive, vibrant and large hearted staff both teaching and non teaching . Their extraordinary creative talent and integrity never fail in my work.

I want to express my sincere gratitude to our education department, all the parents, well wishers and friends who diligently and dependably support in the task of imparting knowledge.

All of us are the actors and actresses in this beautiful film called life, directed by God’s Himself. Our only responsibility is to become best instrument to realize the vision of our institution. Come on, let’s give our best and make this institution a modern temple of learning through our diligence, devotion, and dedication.
